What do you love most about living in and around the bustling Seattle metropolis? As a dealership that calls Everett “home,” we appreciate the town’s proximity to the city without compromising its laid back atmosphere and the values that have defined it since its founding in the late 1890s. Towns like Everett offer the best of both worlds, ensuring Snohomish County residents never have to settle for anything less than extraordinary when it’s time to put down their roots and establish a home.

Klein Honda takes a similar no-compromise approach with our customers, making us the simple answer to residents throughout Everett and the greater Seattle metropolitan area who wonder, “Is there a Honda dealer near me?” We refuse to ask our customers to settle for less; fortunately, Honda agrees. Models like the CR-V Hybrid prove as much, particularly the 2023 lineup that blends rugged details with its sophisticated design, a larger cabin, and an engaging driving experience without compromising efficiency, versatility, or affordability. Here’s a closer look at how the 2023 CR-V Hybrid accomplishes such a feat.

Continuing the Legacy

The CR-V caused quite a stir with its debut in the late 1990s because it was nearly impossible to categorize. It handled like a sedan but didn’t look anything like a car. At the same time, its spacious cabin and higher driving position likened it to an SUV, but it wasn’t that either. Honda’s “Comfortable Runabout Vehicle” helped establish a new segment and introduced us to the crossover we know and love today.

Over the years, the CR-V has become a staple in the Honda lineup and a fan favorite among American drivers. Its evolution showcases its success and Honda’s keen awareness of what makes it so popular, with the 2023 CR-V ushering in its sixth generation and an updated hybrid system that embodies Honda’s vision to build an all-electric future.

Two High-Value, Rugged, and Sophisticated Trims

The 2023 CR-V Hybrid reflects Honda’s success at packaging its vehicles to offer exceptional value and versatility without an inflated price tag. The CR-V’s hybrid lineup for 2023 includes the Sport Hybrid and the Sport Touring Hybrid, with a starting price of $32,950 for the base model.[a] So, what does this price get you? Everything you could ever need in a best-selling SUV.

The Sport Hybrid sets the benchmark for the hybrid models and comes standard with Honda’s updated hybrid powertrain, smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the Honda Sensing safety suite. Stylistically, it’s sportier than its gas-powered siblings. It immediately distinguishes itself with a unique mesh grille with gloss black accents, aggressive front and rear fascias, roof rails, and gloss-black alloy wheels. From the rear, the polished chrome exhaust finishers and piano black lower bumper complete the aesthetic.

The Sport Touring hybrid shares the same aggressive fascias, roof rails, and exhaust finishers with a few distinct differences. For example, it swaps the Sport Hybrid’s cloth upholstery for leather-trimmed seating with orange accent stitching that complements the leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel. In addition, the top-tier trim adds several conveniences and upgrades, like a Bose premium sound system, a hands-free access power tailgate, the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System, and Real Time All-Wheel Drive for enhanced capability on slippery terrain.

Dynamic Performance at Any Speed

The 2023 CR-V introduces an all-new fourth-generation hybrid system that relies on two motors to deliver next-level performance and capability in the Sport and Sport Touring trims. The updated hybrid powertrain features a 2.0L Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection mated to a pair of side-by-side-mounted electric motors. The new configuration delivers 247 lb-ft of torque and 204 hp, enhanced responsiveness, and a towing capacity of up to 1,000 lbs. With more power, the CR-V Hybrid models can now easily reach speeds up to 115 mph. Fortunately, you won’t hear the hybrid powertrain drone on and, instead, can enjoy a quiet ride. The CR-V manages this feat with additional insulators under the instrument panel, hood, and cowl, inside the fenders, and around the cargo opening.

This additional insulation gives you the freedom to take full advantage of the CR-V’s selectable drive modes, a first in CR-V history. The CR-V’s drive modes let you customize your experience in the driver’s seat, tailoring the sensitivity of the transmission and throttle. For example, Normal Mode is ideal for everyday driving because it balances performance and efficiency. In contrast, ECON Mode limits the input of the accelerator and changes how the air conditioner operates to minimize fuel consumption. Snow Mode improves traction, and the Hybrid-exclusive Sport Mode engages active sound control and finetunes the response of the throttle for a sport-like driving demeanor.

Tools That Improve Efficiency

The CR-V’s hybrid powertrain is incredibly efficient, with an average fuel economy of 43 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway on front-wheel drive models and 40 MPG and 34 MPG, respectively, on all-wheel drive models.[b] This makes the CR-V attractive to commuters, especially those who trek from Everett to Seattle for work. Moreover, Honda doesn’t force you to rely solely on the CR-V’s hybrid powertrain for its fuel-sipping tendencies. How so?

Honda’s newly redesigned navigation system is impressive and boasts the latest technology and map data to improve route planning. However, it does even more on the hybrid models because it works with the hybrid powertrain. The tool is Predictive Eco Assist and can help maximize the CR-V’s fuel economy, predicting areas along your route where regenerative energy is optimal. Once you reach these areas (like coasting downhill), the hybrid powertrain lets off the gas and relies on its electric motors to improve fuel economy.

In addition, the CR-V Hybrid also incorporates the same one-pedal technology typically found in battery-electric vehicles (BEVs). The CR-V’s all-new “B” transmission makes one-pedal driving possible, combining the function of the accelerator and brake pedals. As a result, one-pedal driving improves efficiency by conserving energy without compromising your experience, control, or confidence behind the wheel.

Tech-Savvy in Every Way

The 2023 CR-V blends the versatility and practicality expected of a Honda SUV with a surprising array of cutting-edge technology that keeps you safe, connected, and informed. This technology comes in many forms, from the Bose premium sound system on the Sport Touring Hybrid to the cloud-based HondaLink connected car system. While the Bose sound system delivers a concert-like experience to every seat, HondaLink makes it possible to remotely start and stop the engine, lock and unlock the doors, locate the SUV, and access diagnostics.

The CR-V’s technology stretches even further and includes an expansive touchscreen display with smartphone integration and an exceptional suite of safety features centralized in the Honda Sensing suite. Newly updated for 2023, the Honda Sensing suite features new camera technology and radars that improve its field of view and responsiveness. As a result, there’s a shorter delay between the camera detecting a potential collision and alerting the driver or taking corrective action. You’ll experience this improved responsiveness in suite-specific tools like the all-new traffic jam assist and traffic sign recognition system, the collision mitigation braking system, lane-keeping assist system, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, blind spot information system, and forward collision warning.

Why Will You Choose the CR-V Hybrid?

What makes the CR-V Hybrid perfect for drivers like you? It’s the chameleon of the industry, expertly adapting to every need with little effort. It’s the ultimate adventurer when outfitted with all-wheel drive, navigating highway speeds just as readily as it can handle a winding backroad in Sport Mode or running errands in town. Its tech-savvy interior guarantees you stay connected and informed, but even that doesn’t send its price tag mile-high. That’s an accomplishment worth checking out, and it’s why thousands of drivers choose the CR-V year after year.
